CEL Scotland consultancy
2006-2007

This was a piece of consultancy undertaken by Brigid Howarth and myself to see how a consortium of Peacock Arts, Glasgow Print Studios, Edinburgh Printmakers and Dundee Contemporary Arts might move forward on joint projects. Our initial proposal was for a very hard headed analysis of what sales markets the partners might try and move into. After an initial research period it quickly became clear that each of the partners has a very distinct personality and trajectory and that the points of confluence are not as great as one might have supposed beyond all four of them producing prints. Crucially their curatorial strategies cover the whole range of art practice. We proposed producing a folio that would be a showcase for new work including the work of artists, designers and craftspeople, that would be a marketing tool for the partners but also for Scottish creativity, and that would be a commercial proposition in itself.
